Coverage includes articles on drug analysis, biochemistry, chemistry, pharmacology, adverse effects, clinical studies, disease treatment, toxicology, animal studies, mechanism of action, drug interactions and comparisons. The database draws on about 1,150 medical and scientific journals as well as congress and conference proceedings. Records contain bibliographic information, titles, abstracts, indepth pharmaceutical indexing, CAS Registry Numbers, Enzyme Commission Numbers, and structures (in DRUGU only). Both the literature segment and the Derwent Drug Registry segment make up the database. The registry segment lists the pharmacological activity and chemical substructure characteristics of compounds. The subscriber file DRUGU is structure searchable on these compounds. An online thesaurus is available in the Controlled Term (/CT) field.
