Hardware & Software Requirements

Hardware Support

  • 3GHz Core Duo CPU
  • 2 GB RAM

Software Support

Recommended Systems and Browsers

  • Windows 7: Internet Explorer 8 and higher; Firefox 38 and higher; Chrome 44 and higher
  • Windows 10: Internet Explorer 11 and Edge; Firefox 45; Chrome 52 and higher
  • Java Compatibility Considerations
  • Structure drawing in new STN requires a Java JRE (Java Runtime Environment) and the associated Java plug-in to link JRE to browsers. A 64-bit version of Java is required for 64-bit browsers. For all supported operating systems and browsers use Java 7 Update 45 (1.7.0_45) or later.
  • The Java 7 Update 51 (1.7.0_51) can result in blocking all Java-based applications causing a failure to load or start unless you specifically add (whitelist) the application site to your Exception Site List. Click here to access directions on how to add the application to your Exception Site List.
  • On April 14, 2015, an update to Google Chrome disabled browser support of NPAPI by default. This blocks the Java Runtime Environment (JRE), which is required for the Java-based structure drawing editor. Click here for instructions on how to enable NPAPI support to allow the JRE plugin to run.
