    IFI's databases IFIPAT and IFICLS offer one of the most extensive collections of U.S. patents and published applications available, including all chemical patents from 1950 to the present, all utility patents from 1963 to the present, and all U.S. published applications. Learn how to improve your search results with IFI's value added features, including chemical indexing, title expansions, standardized assignee information, probable assignees, cross referenced application and patent numbers, updated U.S. class codes, patent extensions, terminal disclaimers, weekly reassignment updates, and other legal status information affecting the validity and ownership of the documents. These alternative patent sources on STN provide valuable information supporting litigation, licensing, competitive assessment, patent status, and patent validity search activities.
