DGENE
Description:
Producer: Thomson Reuters (Scientific) Ltd Coverage: 1981 to the present File Size: More than 8,671,811 records (4/2007)
More than 5,822,479 nucleic acids (4/2007)
More than 2,849,332 protein sequences (4/2007)Updates: Every two weeks File Type: Bibliographic, Sequence Content: Nucleic acid and protein sequences Language: English The Derwent GENESEQ (DGENE) database contains information on nucleic acid and protein sequences extracted from Derwent World Patents Index (WPINDEX/WPIDS/WPIX) basic patent documents published by 41 patent offices worldwide. Coverage includes nucleotide sequences of 10 or more bases, all amino acid sequences of 4 or more residues and nucleic probes and primers of any length. More than half of the sequence data that appears in DGENE is not available in any other public sequence database.
Records contain a Derwent enhanced title from WPINDEX, a concise Sequence Description, an English abstract written especially for DGENE by a Derwent expert, patent information, detailed indexing, a feature table, and sequence data. Both text and sequence data are fully searchable and displayable. Derwent WPI family information (FAM) and INPADOC Legal Status (LS) can also be directly displayed within DGENE.
Both DGENE and PCTGEN feature BLAST(R) and FASTA (GETSIM) search algorithms for conducting similarity (homology) searches of protein and nucleotide sequences. Sequence Code Match (SCM) searches are conducted using GETSEQ package.
