USPAT2 is a companion file to the USPATFULL file. The USPAT2 file contains full text and classifications for the latest publications of U.S. patents and applications issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since 2001. In addition, a USPATFULL record for an invention contains a complete list of publications that may be searched in standard search fields, e.g., /PN, /PK, etc.

Page images are available in USPAT2 for all records. Complete Chemical Abstracts indexing for one equivalent U.S. chemical patent is also included in a record. A thesaurus is available for the USPTO Manual of Classifications in the /NCL, /INCL, and /RPCL fields. This thesaurus includes catchword terms from the USPTO/MOC subject headings and subheadings. A thesaurus is available for the WIPO International Patent Classifications (IPC) in the /IC field.
