How to use "Saved Search Terms"
Principle:

The "Saved Search Terms" option allows you to define and save STN Easy search terms. These saved terms may be recalled and used to conduct new searches or combine with other terms in any STN Easy database. This option is recommended for frequently used partial search strategies (e.g. recurrent chemical names, key words, synonyms, IPCs, controlled vocabulary, classification codes, company names etc.).

Benefit:

"Saved Search Terms" make your information search more convenient, time-saving and efficient. You don´t have to retype search terms once again at later time.

How to use:

Start a broad initial search, then refine it for free by recalling "Saved Search Terms" to narrow your search.
or
Start a broad search with "Saved Search Terms", then refine it for free with specific terms to narrow your search.

Costs: Saving of search terms is free of charge. Standard STN Easy search prices are in effect.
Note: Within "STN Easy for Intranets" only the Site Administrator is allowed to save search terms for the user community.

SAVE SEARCH TERMS ON ANSWER PAGE:
1. Perform an STN Easy search, using any STN Easy search mode, even including Refine steps.
2. When you are satisfied with your search strategy, click the "Save" button at top of Answer Page.

GIVE YOUR SAVED SEARCH TERMS DESCRIPTIVE NAMES:
1. Specify whether your search terms are saved for Recall and/or as Defined Search.
2. Give an unique name for easy identification.

RECALL SAVED SEARCH TERMS ON SEARCH PAGE:
1. Saved Search Terms can be recalled from Search Page or Refine Page via the "Recall" button. Clicking "Recall" opens a browser window with a list of your saved sets of search terms.
2. Select a set of search terms for recall. Highlight the item and click "Recall".
Helpful HINT: Let show details by clicking the "Show Details" button.

3. The Saved Search Terms populate your search mask exactly as they were saved. Any saved Boolean Operators are also recalled . If desired, modify these terms or enter additional terms. Click "Search".
Helpful HINT: To review your saved items, click the "Review Saved Terms" link on the navigation frame. A list of all your saved items (Saved Search Terms and Defined Searches) is displayed. Highlight the item for review and click "Show Details". To remove any saved item, highlight it and click "Delete".

VIEW TITLE LISTS ON ANSWER PAGE:
1. A regular STN Easy answer page is displayed.
2. As usual, select the answer(s) of interest or refine the answer set for free.
