Structure searching on STNext

Basic structure searching on STNext
STNext, the newest gateway to the premium content on STN®, comes with a new structure drawing editor, built to search on the classic STN platform. In this workshop we will discuss how to use this new editor and search chemical compounds in the REGISTRY and DCR database and retrieve corresponding literature in CAPLUS and WPINDEX. The following topics will be discussed:

  • Basic functionality of the STNext structure editor
  • Substance databases REGISTRY and DCR
  • Multi-database structure searches
  • Retreiving bibliographic records in CAPLUS and DWPI based on structure search results

In this workshop we will discuss how to use the advanced STNext Structure Drawing Editor options and how to perform a multi-database structure and reference search.  and search chemical compounds in Registry and DCR . The following topics will be discussed:

  • Exact, Family, Sub Structure and Closed Structure Searching
  • Use substructure drawing precision tools like
    • R-groups
    • Variable point of attachment
    • Repeating groups
    • Assigning attributes to variable groups
    • Ring isolation
    • Atom blocking
