NAPRALERT covers pharmacology, biological ac-tivity, taxonomic distribution, ethics in medicine, and the chemistry of plant, microbial, or animal (inclu- ding marine) extracts. Records in NAPRALERT relate to organisms and natural products. Nearly 50% of the database contains records obtained by systematic indexing of literature since 1975. The remaining records are com-piled as a result of retrospective data selection dating back to 1650.
