DWPI Manual Code revision 2021

From DWPI update 2021001 onwards the DWPI Manual Codes will be indexed with the revised 2021 set of codes. The Manual Codes are revised at the start of each year to include new codes suggested by customers as well as the patent analysts at Derwent. For the 2021 revision, 86 new Manual Codes have been added, with 29 new CPI (Chemical Patents Index) codes and 57 new codes in the GMPI/EPI (ie General and Mechanical Patents Index and Electrical Engineering Patents Index) areas. The new codes allow newly emerging technologies to be indexed in DWPI, and the revision also includes a number of scope note changes to ensure clarity of the scope of the codes.

Significant revisions for 2021 include:

• B04-F11B2 Coronavirus
• B14-H06C Chemosensitizers
• B12-K04G2K Diagnosis of metabolic disorders
• X21-K02 Vehicle to network; Vehicle to cloud communications
• X21-K05 Inter-vehicle communications; V2V
