CAS STNext^® e-Seminar: The best of both indexing worlds - CAplus / DWPI

CAS® and Clarivate Analytics make some the most important, value-added databases that are available to the public, especially in the field of chemistry. This e-Seminar will highlight select value-added indexing features for both the CAplus and Derwent World Patents Index (aka DWPI) databases, along with their respective companion substance files. A special focus will be set on broad versus specific domain ontologies, e.g. CA sections versus controlled words in CAplus as well as the Derwent Classification versus Manual Code systems in DWPI respectively. We will also highlight the value of company name cross-database searches exploiting CAS substance indexing and the comprehensiveness of bibliographic information across family members in DWPI. Sample searches will be run to show that searching both suites of databases will culminate in high quality, comprehensive results.
