IFI CLAIMS Patent Services produces several databases based on U.S. patent information. This coffee lecture will focus on two of these databases, IFIALL and IFICLS. IFIALL covers U.S. granted patents from 1950 for chemical patents, and 1963 for all other patents. The database also covers all U.S. published applications, which started in 2001. IFICLS is a companion database that covers legal status actions on U.S. granted patents, including reexaminations, reassignments, extensions, expirations, reinstatements, adverse decisions and certificates of corrections. Unique value-added features will be highlighted in this session, as well as how to work across these databases to get the complete overview of U.S. documents.
